In Australia there are more than 105,000 people homeless every day. There are many more who are not on any statistical database. In a country as wealthy as Australia, this is an outrage!
Why is this happening? The rich seem to get richer while the poor are getting poorer.
There are many misconceptions regarding homeless people. Yes some do have drug & alcohol problems due to the desperation of their lives, where once addicted, it is hard to break these habits without the proper help.
However many of our homeless have been victims of circumstances. High costs of living coupled with low wages has exasperated the problem with many employers under-employing their staff as a matter of policy.
